I like that sort of decision tree
The fuzzier one, I mean. One of the reasons go is so hard to write an AI for is that evaluating the strength of a move or position is very difficult. It's also one of the reasons I enjoy moba games like LoL so much. In turn based games, the opportunity cost of making a move is every other move you could have made, whereas in a real time game you're also sacrificing seconds, minutes. Should I stay in lane and farm, making me more powerful, or should I attempt to influence the next lane over? Is that worth my time? Is it worth giving up farm? Am i thinking this over too long? If I get there in time, can I influence the outcome in any meaningful way? The decision making process is rapidly accelerated and iterated constantly for the entirety of the match. -/ES/-
