Scenes like the mother passing by a room to briefly glimpse a figure behind the curtain, the psychic's arrival, those were acted and blocked the exact same way. I think I laughed at nearly every scare attempt, especially the entire end sequence where they warn the father not to tip off the spirits that he's human and he goes through the entire dimension HAVE YOU SEEN MY SON? [/quote] Yeah, it's got a lot of things that are identical - but the vibe is completely different. Call the exorcist in PA and they're just boring fuckwads, call them in Insidious and the weed police show up with their avantgarde artist medium. Then lets go to other dimensions. It gears into a drive that somehow disappeared from horror movies - I think this is why I liked Cabin of The Woods - stuff end up going somewhere! Where it goes is kinda dumb and looks like a 90's music video - but at least it's on the move.[/quote]
