Re: It's such a fucking dumbass game with such a dumb story.

When they wanted me to be surprised that the AI Hologram was an AI hologram I could hardly take it anymore. It's also one of the easiest games I've playied - stealth is just this contrived gameplay thing that seems to exist seperately from the rest of the game. All the hub and open world stuff was meaningless - a couple of blocks of real estate to do superfluous quests in, walking up and down the same stairway every ten minutes as they pad the length of the game.
Sounds like Deus Ex! I'm convinced there had to have been an A and B team when it came to the story. The A team did a bunch of brilliant stuff in the books, the emails, a couple background NPC conversations, and just the general setup. Anything related to the main plot was outsourced like it was a boss fight to the Square Enix B team dipping their jRPG dicks into the inkwell. The hologram was a hologram? The woman who was (regressive crappily) slugged in the stomach and carried away (like a bundle of yams) was still alive? Every boss intro cutscene. Every "debate" scene (I will pledge $50 to charity if anyone can come up with any logic to that mini-game). I'm hoping HR was a proof of concept that a Deus Ex game can be a big seller and we'll soon get the AAA sequel with graphics from this decade, a better story, and the empty desk of whoever came up with the candy bar battery system.
