Really late to the party but Firefly is the worst
Well not the "worst" but still pretty bad and boring. Really boring. The Whedon formula of "clever" characters with "clever" dialogue, the sort that one of the frumpy hausfraus at a joint like TelevisionwithoutPity would call "snarky" plus the 80lb teenage girl who has magical kick-the-shit-out-of-everyone powers would have been boring enough, but the whole bad-fusion-of-SF-and-Western sealed the deal. That Bravestarr cartoon was probably a better "Space Western". But that's it, it was a tepid offering that should have been a blip on the radar, just another lame SF show on Fox that got cancelled (and what a graveyard that is.) The only small entertainment to be gained from gawking at the fandom, and I'm not talking about people who watched and were just like, "Oh I liked Firefly/Serenity" but the really loud, crazy fans. The sort of people who were convinced if they all saw the movie 20 times or bought more tickets and tried giving them away to "normals" similar to how Scientologists did with the Battlefield Earth flick, they'd get enough numbers to convince 20th Century Fox to make a sequel. Seriously, much of the fanbase the show would make the Scientologists and the super-nerds from the Eltingville Comic Book, Science Fiction, Fantasy , Horror, and Role-Playing Club look like a afternoon tea-party in comparison, from the people who would spazz out over any idea that (gasp) there might not be a Serenity sequel to the sort of manbabies who insisted on using the annoying faux future slang and cussin from the TV show a lot. If you're going to swear, use real big-boy curses like FUCK and SHIT instead of this 'gorram' and 'the verse' shit.
