Re: Haven't you been spending $ on upgrading your agents' stats?

Have you been robbing the guards you knock out? They're a significant source of money and sellable items. So much so I think at least a level 1 strength upgrade is mandatory for all agents. I DO agree that the game is an asshole for not telling you a VIP mission must be completed to get the key to a vault.
Spending money on upgrades was what made me not have anything during a fabricator mission. It's not a question of not getting money, it's a question of all the upgrades being boring. +1 item slot per level. +1 or +10% whatever per level. Boring. The guard KO mechanics suck ass. Guards wake up in 2 turns on alert unless you sit on them? Or drag their body with you through the entire level? Why do this in a system where they already have mechanics in place to receive unlimited reinforcements? Stupid.
But if you don't have money for a fabricator, don't take missions with a fabricator objective?
They were the only missions available, besides the "you don't have the key for this vault" mission. The RNG strikes again.
Also, if the game seems piss-easy and repetitive, it's because your first game takes place with the difficulty options set to piss-easy.
Like Blue Wish Resurrection, it's not a difficulty problem. It's a boring problem.
If the RNG pissed you off in FTL as well, maybe you just don't like Roguelites. Gambling is a large part of the gameplay, hence their intentionally short playtime.
Short? The campaigns in this thing run over 3 hours. You sold this as a Roguelike that broke away from the RNG. You're lucky Steam gives refunds now, or else you'd owe me $12.
