And to be fair, the movie does kind of capture that spirit, as much as you can in the 2010s when every woman has to be a STRONG INDEPENDENT WOMAN and every kid has to be a PRECOCIOUS BUT LOVABLE PRODIGY with no trace of human qualities. But the writing is just a little bit too lazy to work, even for Buck Rogers. The ending is a big deus ex machina that just feels... forced. At least they didn't try to set themselves up for a sequel.[/quote]
