Rey doesn't <i>need</i> any guidance, jedi training scenes, or even <i>another showdown</i> with the stooge. She's basically perfect because... <i>Force</i>? Everybody else around her has to be dumb or weak, and pay the damage in her stead. I think this what the kids call "plot armor"? Character dead-end. The villain being a petulant loser is kind of funny! Next film they can have more pratfalls like slipping on a space banana peel while on the deck of the super-duper star destroyer. Wait, this isn't supposed to be a straight up comedy, is it? If there's no real threat, then how do you get invested? I don't know. Perhaps the goal is in his salvation, but again who really cares if he eventually helps throw a Palpatine stand-in down a large tube?
