Interesting article about Bernie campaigners being ignored by HRC in the general
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/12/20/team-bernie-hillary-fucking-ignored-us-in-swing-states.html Basically the Bernie people were screaming bloody murder about how the HRC campaign was ignoring rust belt union members in the big three states but were ignored by DNC geniuses.
“The Clinton campaign believed they had the strongest and brightest people in the room… and they had no concept of why people would choose Bernie Sanders over Hillary Clinton,” Kleeb continued. “They mocked us, they made fun of us. They always had a… model that was supposed to save the day. We were street activists and they don’t get that. And that’s a fundamental divide. They ran a check-the-box, sanitized campaign. And voters don’t think like that. You don’t win elections that way.”
I can confirm having a similar experience in the 2004 campaign when I switched from independent canvassing to doing same the job for the democrats directly, and they tried foisting the most robotic focus-grouped canvassing rap on us. Something that would guaranteed get doors slammed in your face. We wrote a superior rap and tried presenting it to the higher-ups with reasoning why this would get better responses at the door but we were chastised for going "off message" by the higher ups. We ended up distributing our superior rap around the office on the down low and the canvassers who used ours had significantly higher funds raised. Fucking ivy league wannabe activists who don't know shit getting put in charge all the time!
