It has 5,000 games. We are not a 5,000 game family. We are a 10 game family, and I am a 50 game man. It's much less overwhelming to grab the top 100 games on a list <a href="https://www.arcade-museum.com/TOP100.php">like this</a> and put them on your RetroPie. I have a RetroPie as well in the house and I have been just using sftp to move ROMs over to it as I have wanted to play games. There's a couple dozen on it and it works out a lot better than this overwhelming list, 400 of which are Mahjong. I realize none of this answers your question about where to best get the ROMs - if you do want all the games, then maybe that deal for an SD card makes sense, especially if it's exactly the same version of the romset that your RetroPie will be using.
