Peter Molyneux's The Movies

Completely agree

I personally enjoyed it more than any of the prequels and way *way* more than RISE OF SKYWALKER. As somebody that generally enjoys big blockbuster action movies (see: all the Marvel movies) it was frankly shocking to sit there in the theater and have no idea what was going to happen next and I loved that aspect of it. It seems like what Rian Johnson attempted to do in THE LAST JEDI was: open the Star Wars universe up into a franchise where you don't know exactly what you're going to get when you walk into the theater.
It sucks, I want to condemn it totally, because (like Knives Out) there is some painfully obnoxious bullshit in there. But it's the first fresh one in a generation. It's also the only film to try to break out of the cycle of procreation of the previous films. And of course that was shut down in the next one.
THE LAST JEDI wasn't great but at least it had the courage to be weird. RISE OF SKYWALKER is just bad.
