The Backrooms

Anemoiapolis
I just played a backrooms-themed game called Anemoiapolis. The good: It has a very nice atmosphere. The dev took it more in the direction of light puzzles and a subtle atmosphere, rather than creating a jump-scare fest. There is even non-linearity, which I think really adds to the backrooms atmosphere. The backrooms are not linear, people! There's a nice variety in the levels, too. The dev understands procedural generation but only uses it where it makes sense. The bad: It's a bit short at two hours or so. This is kind of offset by the fact that it's only $6, though. There's a system where you collect tickets to get access to new areas. While I understand why he put this in, hunting around for tickets kind of takes away from the atmosphere, in my opinion. It would have been better to have a few new areas automatically unlock when you had completed other ones, or something like that. The ugly: a bunch of people on steam were complaining their graphics cards couldn't run this. I wouldn't know though, because my graphics card ran it fine.
