Dreamcore got an official release and... it's OK. When I last played this, it was initially just the poolrooms. But now there is a Poolrooms level and also an Eternal Suburbia level. I was initially frustrated with this game because they didn't let you go down the water slides! Also they don't let you do things like jump over very low railings. Another thing that frustrated me was that the initial onscreen text of the game seemed to hint that it had puzzles, but then it didn't have any. Well, none of that stuff has changed. However, I have become... more accepting of this game after I watched Librarian play it on YouTube. He made the point that the game has kind of a deliberate aesthetic of monotony going on. It's almost kind of punitive in a way, showing you giant rooms that you must walk across (no shortcuts). You'll be wandering in the maze for a very long time, long enough to lose track of time. Long enough to maybe even lose hope that you'll ever find a way out. I guess I can see what they were going for here. And to be clear, the production value here is high, much higher than your usual Backrooms shovelware. It's actually more than one guy, and they have actual sound designers and so forth. So if you want that kind of experience, you might consider this game. I guess the big question is, is it better than The Complex, the other backrooms walking sim? I'd say probably not, but it's been a while since I played that one.
