First of all, it has to hate women as much as I do.
No I'm kidding, nothing could hate women as much as I do. I think I just like stories about violent losers spewing dialogue that's too clever by half, filmed with whatever the opposite of Netflix lighting would be. They don't all have to look like Tim Burton's Frankenweenie but I appreciate when they try. Intricate plots are a bonus, as are sexy babes who should never be trusted, and weaselly little guys like Elisha Cook, Jr. who should also never be trusted. Basically tech noir but with less impressive tech. Near as I can tell, the IMDb tag just indicates a well-shot black-and-white Hollywood movie, with at least one dead body. So there's going to be a lot of them among The Best Movies of the 1940s. Do you have any strong opinions about film noir? Bearing in mind that cyberpunk is outside the bounds of this discussion?
