Re: Daredevil (spoilerz)

Personally, I don't think they're even greenlighting superhero films without at least one sequel in ink (as in, contracts to the director, actors, etc.). So they make the origin first film, hoping for crossover success and placating the fans (by, naturally, giving them what they pretty much already know) in a tug-of-war between the two (X-Men handled it the best, I think). The second film is where they can be more original with their storylines; you don't risk alienating the comic fans with new storylines after the origin has been established more-or-less properly in the first film. So, same cast for DD is virtualyl a gurantee, except different villians.
I wonder what villains they are thinking of using. Historically, DD's had some pretty shitty ones. Bullseye's A-List, but beyond that you get into Stilt-Man and the Owl. I mean, *I'd* be okay if Stilt-Man were in the next one, but that's going to look severely retarded to anyone who is experiencing the wonder of Wilbur Day for the first time. There had been some discussion on Usenet or Bendis's BBS (can't recall which) regarding how it would be great if DD had a nemesis that was also a lawyer, so maybe they could go that route. Typhoid Mary would be a neat story as well. The odd thing is, the only time I've ever seen Ultron used in an interesting manner was about 12 years ago when Ann Nocenti used him in the Acts of Vengeance. It probably wouldn't work for a movie, though. Mysterio used in that story where (spoiler) Karen Page dies could maybe work, even though I wouldn't think that I'd ever see Mysterio in a movie if I lived to be as old as Stan Lee.
