This apparently killed the game for many people. [/quote] That's pretty much what killed it for me. Sci-fi tech trees I can handle; I extend my Civ3 game with several 'future' technologies and units. Its that I didn't care about any of the 'civs' in the game, or the setting for that matter. There's no urgency to it. For me the appeal of Civ1/2/3 is the 'creating history' or alternate timelines stuff. I genuinely care when its the Koreans sneak attacking me, I could give a shit when its Hives or whateverthefuck.
