What they'll do if we don't show the pictures is pretty much what they've been doing so far. It's going to stop sooner or later, why rile them up more by landing on aircraft carriers and declaring the war over, or shooting their leaders and then figuratively dragging them through the streets of the Internet? Why not show a little class, take care of business like professionals, deliver on our promises, and get the fuck out? What's wrong with that? Fanatics or not, I don't think these guys taking the potshots give a fuck if Uday and Qusay are around. They just don't like the idea of American tanks and planes running all over their country. They're probably not entitled to that opinion at this point, but us adding to the stomping by making iron-on t-shirts of the damage we're doing isn't going to make them lay down their arms any sooner. The point of my post (for laudablepuss) is this: the theory that showing your enemy what will happen to them if they continue to fight you will cause them to stop fighting you has proved false time and again. Why don't we just come clean and say we're posting the pictures because we want to, because we're proud of what we did, or because we're normal human beings with a morbid fascination with images of death? What's wrong with saying that, instead of excusing it with some ridiculous bullshit about how it will act as a deterrent?
