Re: Awww, what the fuck.

Sounds great. Much more professional drums than in most amateur work I've heard. Bordering on sellable. To make it good enough to ship off to Warp, you should consider more variety within the track. But what do I know? the mrs.
Thanks! I'm glad you like it, because you listen to way (WAY) more different artists than I do. Hmmm... more variety, eh? One thing I was going to do at one point was go back and mix up the stolen drum loop* a bit throughout, add a couple of fills and so on. Maybe I still will. Or maybe I'll be all obstinate and leave it as is to the detriment of the song. My current philosophy is to abandon these things when they are reasonably complete and incorporate the criticisms on the next tune (hey, don't you kinda do that with your writing?). That way I can get a reasonable number of tracks completed in a few months to have something shop around and sell. I'm aiming at 11-12 tracks for a full-length record, that goal may be a little lofty. But I'd feel like a cheater if the record was under 40 minutes. These songs are all under 4 minutes long. Warp, of course, represents the Almighty to me and I would never presume to send them a demo. I'd be struck down from Above, surely. FoK *If the drummer that played the original version of the loop that I stole heard it, I doubt he'd recognize it. It has been assimilated.
