Re: Are you talking about the Angela Lansbury thing?

Jesus, really? Here, search this page for the word "serial". Ignore the idiotic "jump the shark" comments (and, uh, graphic and forum title). There you go. Even more horrific, Angela Lansbury was apparently a bit of a looker in her youth. I can't imagine it, because even seeing her old movies, my eye preprocesses her image to make her look like the old hag I'm used to. Or something. But then she acts like a young woman, and it gives me the willies.
She was adorable, but facially troubling, in a version of The Three Musketeers with Gene Kelly (my favorite movie take on the novel!) The clear winner in that casting circus was Vincent Price as Cardinal Richelieu. I really love old costume dramas. Like, to death. My standing favorite is The Scarlet Pimpernel with (hidden Hungarian) Leslie Howard. He was magnificent, but the leading lady (Merle Oberon) was awful in a very Battlefield Earth way. The Scarlet Pimpernel with Richard E. Grant is a merciless disappointment no matter how much you love Withnail And I.
