The squares have always been more than happy to attempt to co-opt their dimly perceived notions of rock, repackage it, and sell it to kids that don't know any better. It was always thus, nowadays is no different. The good rock bands aren't terrible at all. Some of the bands that are out now are doing great stuff. Part of your problem is, I think, that you're narrowing your focus too much: rock isn't just guitar bands, y'know. [/quote]
