Re: Rules of comedy, by a comedy master (me)

Rules from a Comedy MASTER! (i.e. ME, the COMEDIC GENIUS) 1. Never make a joke about anything that may be misconstrued<A HREF="http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&q=define%3Amisconstrue">*</A> in any serious, non-funny way. This is rule number one, so it must be important! Plus it's from foolio, world-reknowned humorist. 2. Don't use sarcasm tags as a workaround to rule #1, as in: <sarcasm>this is instantly funnier!</sarcasm> It's not, as you can clearly see by the sarcasm tags. Trust me, I'm a professional. 3. Comedic progression--it's always the third item in a list. Rule #1 is violated so often I've made a short list of don'ts: -Jokingly making bomb threats at airports. This is so bad, it's illegal! Don't. -Telling someone "I'm going to kill you" after they do something to anger you. On the flipside, you might be able to pull this one off as 'edgy humor', but most likely will only succeed at the 'edgy' part, leaving you 'edgy and murderous'. And we all know that 'murderous' isn't funny, at least not directly murderous. Commentaries on murderous behaviors, on the other hand, can be comic gold (see: OJ). -Multiple joking 'admin-losing-it' posts on a forum where the previous two admins (give or take one) destroyed/deleted the contents of same forum. It's funny, but is it true? See, if we all agreed to follow rule #1 (the first rule in the list, BTW), I would know whether or not this forum is slowly losing its current admin. For sure. Is he joking? I guess it doesn't matter, but you see my point.
Is this a joke? Becuase if it is, it isn't funny and if it's not - well, it isn't funny.
