It helps to see the other games they're playing that day for comparison. Alladin and Bram Stoker's Dracula. Terrible! Also, Romero seems to be in charge of playing games.
That was basically his entire role at id. He's often credited as being the FATHER OF DOOM for some reason, when in reality he wrote the level editor and part of the first episode. John Carmack did all the real down-and-dirty engine programming on all of id's games in the early 1990s, and it shows: Carmack is now the technical director at id (and a self-taught aerospace engineer) while Romero has flitted from company to company leaving a trail of destruction and unfinished jobs in his wake. |
