| Now they are stealing from their own users, and then criminalizing their users for committing the crime of being stolen from by blizzard, WOW's devs now digging deeper after already hitting bottom in the gutter they were shit out into. Outfitter only existed in the first place because bilge fucked their stupid game up so much that they require players at the end game to carry two whole different sets of armor, like one for tanking and one for damage, or one for healing and one for damage, and you would have to switch back and forth because you do horrible shitty damage in healing gear until you switch to more damage oriented gear, and it's really retarded, BUT one guy sort of hotfixed bilgeshitpump inc.'s flaw by creating a mod that switches your entire gear set with the touch of a button.
The only clue that the "Outfitter" mod existed is in the search engine here. Outfitter is no longer publicly available For four years now I have been providing my addons and support for them for free, without advertising, without donations, just plain free. I've answered questions for vast numbers of people quickly and when patches or serious bugs are causing problems I provide updates quickly as well. I've created and leveled... When you click on the post for Outfitter it says the file is deleted, which means that one of the biggest mods for WOW is now erased, because the guy stopped making his mod out of protest (WHICH MIGHT BE A LITTLE GAY TO START) because blizzard changed their TOS to some weird shit, LET ME GOOGLE SOME MORE. Here I found the whole story and shit. Addon devs respond to Blizzard UI policy changes, and by "respond" they mean "discontinue their mods in protest." They may be taking it really serious business, but then again blizzard could've spared a little money for these people who were fully supporting their game with these addons which they made for free in spare time because they were such big fans (A LITTLE GAY ESPECIALLY IF THEY WERE NIGHT ELVES), and now blz is not just taking their idea, but they aren't even putting them in that soon because they JUST CAN'T FIGURE OUT THE MYSTERY of putting in code of an idea they're stealing. One thing that blz is trying to do is to stop mods that were attempting to charge people money to use them, which is retarded and probably impossible to really enforce, but I never heard of any mods that do that (there's a link to one, but their response is to stop charging for their mod). On the other hand, the guy who made outfitter and the guild calendar mods just asked for donations, which is now illegal also. Naturally a lot of players take bilg's side on this because they're night elves or draenei and think blizzard is holy and perfect, LOOK I HAVE A CHARACTER WHO HAS BEAUTIFUL BLUE CERULEAN SKIN, BLIZZARD IS THE GREATEST GAME COMPANY EVER. Again, blz could've simply bought off the mod maker for his ideas before integrating them, but since they didn't have to it's as easy as not doing it case closed, and blizzard doesn't really give a shit about who they're stealing ideas from and if they alienate them because that would just be one less player out of millions. Warhammer doesn't have addons like this anyway psh (of course the not yet mentioned part is that Warhammer doesn't have an outfitter type mod...... BECAUSE IT WILL NEVER NEED ONE). The cited reason is that "certain issues were encountered...that could not be resolved in time" to be included with the patch, and they would rather delay to "ensure that this feature meets our standard of quality." You know, they could've just hired this guy out, or at least paid him to give them his code just to start with. They have enough billions of dollars and even after the dip in their sales they're still making hundreds of millions of dollars like every month. Even if they only had half a million useres worldwide, that would be like 500,000 x 15, I don't know what that is but I bet it's a lot. It looks like the winduhs calculator says it's like 7,500,000, A MONTH!!!!!!! which should be enough to maintain any game company. Here's another little story about another mod they've stolen............. FROM THE EXACT SAME GUY WHO MADE OUTFITTER, he also made a mod called guild calendar which blz is stealing yet again. Speaking of stealing ideas, it looks like they're also stealing an idea from me and Jso after we complained about the talent system pigeonholing players into only playing as one aspect of their class (you can't tank as a warrior unless you're protection spec which is retarded because any warrior should be able to tank anything because of the fact that they have chosen THE WARRIOR CLASS, so all they should really need is a shield and some healing). Anyway, blz is soon adding a "feature" (stolen) that doesn't fix the idiotic idea of the talent system, but they are letting players, for 1000 gold, buy the ability to alternate between two different talent specs. Then combined with the new stolen outfitter mod, they'll have their built in outfitter that you can change your gear AND your talent spec together, so you can go around with your + pet health/damage talents when you're soloing by yourself in their bland fetch/kill quest chains, or the occasional quest where you have to attempt to solo a 3 man elite with only you by yourself because of course no one plays that anymore and who would want to waste their time on that anyway? Also, after like 5 years, bilge is finally adding maps for their instances (instead of when you hit the map button it just brings up the world map). I wonder when WOW is going to add public quests. |
