HotD Overkill, Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart, Smash Brothers by FABIO 05/02/2009, 2:37pm PDT Mario Galaxy is the most pure fun platformer ever and switches gameplay up so often it never has a chance to get old: the BG&E of platformers? Mario Kart Wii erases the mess of Double Dash and gives you Nintendo's most functional online game yet (which is still years behind everyone else, but hey). Overrated shit to avoid: If you liked Ocarina of Time and want to play the exact same game all over again with absolutely zero gameplay refinements since 1998, then chuck in Twilight Princess. But honestly stuff like Prince of Persia and Beyond Good & Evil have made Zelda games pretty obsolete at this point. Any Mario Party Any Wario Ware: What worked for a single player portable game does not port over well to multiplayer console. Super Paper Mario: Removing the RPG battles and beefing up the platforming part was a good idea...on paper! The only problem is they forgot the beefing up part. At one point there is a minigame where you must literally hold the right direction arrow down for 10 minutes to proceed. No More Heroes: What you get if you take Killer 7, ugly up the art style, make the combat a hundred times more obnoxious while staying just as shallow, up the grind factor exponentially, and cut back on the insane story. A game so bad that Tom Chick of all people nails it: "A great meta joke of a game. Unfortunately the joke is on the player." The only enjoyable part is watching the mission briefings and boss intros. Head to Youtube and enjoy the game for free.
