Aside from map size, what settings should I choose for anomalies, habitable planets, etc.? It always seems like I'm just discovering a universe full of gas giants aside from one or two planets near me. Or worse, I'm located in the corner of the map with two systems and two planets each, and the next system is a freaking ridiculously long distance away.
Habitable planets: occasional
Planets: common
Stars: Abundant
Arrangement: Loose clusters
Anomalies: common
Asteroids: common
Disable the ascension victory, that's super crazy. I usually just have conquest (always on) and alliance victories enabled.
Personally, I disable tech trading, enable tech stealing, and disable Super Abilities. I'm on the fence about mega events. I currently have them enabled, and if they're too gay I'll reload. Recently the Jagged Knife took 8 of my planets. I might have kept it, but they had the same empire logo that I had, so it was confusing and stupid. Reload. (Can't you program a test in there to make sure the new guys don't have the same logo as an existing empire? Too hard I guess.) |
