THE SHORT BETS (L4D2 Will/Will Not Make Its Promised Release Date) by Ice Cream Jonsey 06/07/2009, 6:32pm PDT
No piece of software has ever managed to reach its first announced release date in the entire history of development, with the exception of all movie-licensed titles.

While it is very possible that I am the biggest Left 4 Dead 2 fan in the free world at the moment (the protest group is 15K strong - these people should have mobilized for Terror From the Deep, Spy Hunter 2 or The Wolf Age) my own frustrations with software development have taken form against Left 4 Dead 2. I don't believe that the release date of quality software can be predicted with any sort of accuracy, nor do I think it ever will be.

On the other hand, Worm seems to believe that the game is almost done.

Regardless, we are both looking forward to what could very well be the best game of 2009 or, IMO, 2010. A chance to get a free game - one I am actually interested in - by betting against it making its first release date? Worm, I don't feel right about this.
