Even for a comic book movie. Any of the X-men movies were better, even the third one (possibly not Wolverine).
There were some explosions and flying and stuff, but mostly it's a vehicle for Robert Downey and Gwyneth Paltrow to wing it together enough for me to make the joke that they should have called it Improv Man.
So the improv scenes are awful, and Robert Downey at this point is basically a grown up Shia LaBeouf. Not a single plot point or solution that isn't telegraphed an hour in advanced. Jeff Bridges as INC.
Between this and Transformers, we're now at a point in movies where the military rivals Coke and Nokia for product placement. Is not the F22 really really cool and deserving of not being cut off from funding? Arab children love America, don't you want to go over there and protect children? |
