Cito batted Wells, Bajaras and Millar 3-4-5 the other day when Lind got a day off for some reason. It kills me. HERP DERP MILLAR NEEDS HIS SWINGS. This was a good team, too! At one point. Now, right, they are a joke, but they just needed a DH at the start of the season. Instead they gave Millar 400 at-bats and tried Dellucci and Inglett and Adams and so forth. Another six million and I honestly believe this team would have made the playoffs. But the thing that really hurt was the draft last week, though. I don't care what those kids were asking for, and I wouldn't have cared if every single one washed out. I never complain about money being spent on the team. The draft picks represent hope. Rogers clearly doesn't want the team, and I really wish they'd sell. This team is hopeless. And this has been brewing for a long time - if the worst teams don't get a fair crack at the best players, then don't insult the fans by having the draft at all. Either abolish it or fix it. They shouldn't have traded him within the division but now he'll just sign there? Seems unwise. Well, Roy had the highest Elias ranking the last time I looked, because Pujlos got hurt a while back or something, so if he does walk after 2010 it wouldn't net the Jays a sandwich pick, because he would only go to a top 15 team - since he likes it in Toronto, he could play for a shitty team for a lot of money and not have to hire movers. But, hahaha, the Jays won't sign whoever they get for the selection anyway, so yeah. That being said, I can't see him going to Boston, NY or TB. I just can't. He suffered through this division for all this time, why bother any more. Make it Ricky Romero's problem or ... well, I don't know who a good, young pitcher for the Orioles is, but if they ever get one, then he can slog through it for seven years. I see Halladay doing what Clemens did, with the difference that Roy isn't an insufferable, lying, cheating, steroid-fueled fucking dickhead: pitch your ass off in the most competitive division in the history of sport and then go to the NL Central or something and win five Cy Youngs in a row. I hope (if he leaves) that he signs with the Cardinals and gets into the HoF, not that I think anyone will ever appreciate him like Toronto fans do. =( I will say that this season has made me less of a baseball fan, permanently. Like how, in D&D, if you get resurrected, you lose a permanent point of constitution. I have lost a permanent point of baseball constitution. I BLED this year. ICJ |
