Once, I complete the objectives of the mission, and get to the first aid kit. I don't notice that being near it makes my health go up, seeing how it didn't completely fill my health bar. So in pressing of the 14 buttons on my controller, hoping that one of them is "pick up help," I shoot it. Get a load of this shit: a cop hears me discharge a weapon and silently skulks up to the house. He slaps cuffs on me, peacefully, as I leave. I couldn't believe what happened. I mean, the radar showed him walk up to the front door, and I was expecting a shoot out. All because GTA4 leaves the goddamn first aid kit box around instead of removing it from the game world when used. There's 40,000 controls, it makes Spy Hunter seem like a slot machine, and yet not one of them is "take first aid kit."

You're all backwards and mixed up, because you can't see shit on your terrible TV and also because Rockstar made some made decisions with the interface.

The first aid kit DOES disappear when you use it. You use it by just touching it, but here's the confusion: the health bar is "full" at half of the circle around the map, 12 o'clock to 6 o'clock. The remainder of the bar is for your bullet proof vest. So you clearly didn't need and couldn't use the health kit when it wouldn't disappear.

Your second problem was not running from the cop. When you go into your "hands up" animation, you have about 2 seconds to decide to run for it. Always run for it! Just slam the A button and take the couple of shots in the back as you get away. It's better to die and lose money (health care satire) than get arrested and lose weapons (gun control satire).

Did anyone on Caltrops buy The Ballad of Gay Tony? I hear it's good.

Here's what GTAIV needs most of all, even more than checkpoints: replays. Goddamn it I want to see what just happened over and over again. For a game with a near-useless "cinematic camera" button, you'd think this wouldn't need to be said.
