Seemingly good things about this movie: by bink 02/17/2005, 3:59am PST - Written by Douglas Adams. - Supposedly has most of the good jokes in the book. - Alan Rickman is the voice of Marvin. - "Guy" from Galaxy Quest is Zaphod, and looks perfect in the role. - Not necessarily a point, but I just realized that, including Alan Rickman, that makes two people from Galaxy Quest in this movie. - John Malkovich. - Extremely good special effects. Unknown factor: - Who the fuck is this guy? I must say I first saw the teaser in an actual theater without being aware of its imminent release (having long assumed the movie would never be made) and the Louis Armstrong song + planet exploding + sudden appearance of DON'T PANIC in huge letters (causing an instant realization to occur) served to get me pretty well stoked.
