If McDaniels had simply stay put this evening by Ice Cream Jonsey 04/22/2010, 9:18pm PDT

Is it just me or is this a huge fucking mistake?

... he could have drafted Dez Bryant and Jimmy Clausen. More, I saw a graphic that said something about how the Broncos, to trade back into the first, gave up a 2, 3 and 4.

Absolute killer mistake. The greatest draft blunder in recent memory. Will be sniggered about in the same tones as the Ricky Williams trade and the Hershel Walker trade. Will lead to McDaniels's termination after the conclusion of the 2011 season, assuming there's no lockout. Will also lead to a Super Bowl appearance by the Baltimore Ravens. What he did today was a Maypole dance of the incompetent. I can not think of what someone could do to more completely destroy the Broncos if an employee of A.J. Smith, Al Davis, or any of the losers running the Chiefs were installed as the decision maker.

Look, I know terrible drafts. I have watched with great passion the majority of terrible drafts in our time. This is a terrible draft. It's the sort of draft you look back on three years later and realize you didn't get any starters from. Maybe Bryant runs a guy over tomorrow and Clausen gets his neck broken for being a smug piece of shit, but nevertheless, Josh McDaniels set the Broncos back at least five years with this. It's unfortunate. Oh, and I don't understand the Tony Scheffler trade at all. What's he planning on getting for Dumervil, two punters and a seventh rounder in 40,000 AD? How the fuck did his interview go, anyway?

Pat Bowlen: If made the coach, how will you improve the team?
Josh McDaniels: I will systematically and completely get rid of your best players and greatest talents for the least return possible.
Pat Bowlen: Aahh-hahahahah!
Josh McDaniels: ...
Pat Bowlen: Gahh-hahahahah!
Josh McDaniels: ...
Ice Cream Jonsey: DAAAAHahahahahah!

(But again, I'd like to reiterate that I don't want to see any teams embarrass themselves. Except Carolina and Atlanta, they can eat a dick.)

(Also, Buffalo won the first round with the best rookie fantasy football performer for the upcoming year.)

For what it's worth, the logo fell off my World Champs mug this morning. I don't know where it is. (Everyone: "I hope you choke on it.") I'm getting the idea that Super Bowl Champions merchandise purchased 72 hours after the game from the French quarter isn't necessarily of the highest quality. It just says "SB Champs" on it now without specifying a team and makes me look like a front-runner. I just like things, people and events that win in a vague, super sense, apparently. Also, I stuck it in the microwave to warm up some coffee and the thing started to MELT on the bottom. Where can I go for better-crafted schwag on this? Out of state, obv, for the next quarter-century thanks to tonight. But no, seriously. Not NFL.com, I hope.
