The biggest difference between BBS and Get Lamp for me was Get Lamp had a lot more abstract discussions about the nature of making a text adventure, while BBS was big chunks of literal real life stories of how one guy went and did this on a BBS (and then a guy created a zip program and cried while wearing a backpack or gun holster).
But since Get Lamp the core movie is only 2 hours long, as opposed to BBS being like 4 or 5 hours long, so I think the length more fits the subject, because it goes into the full history of the text adventures and talking about the concepts.
Also there were some DORKY NERDS in the movie. O_______O |
