These two books are pretty neat. Lots of additional data, like notes to the effect of "he's full of shit here" or "nobody else mentions this" so you can keep track of the false or dubious stuff. I'm reading Herodotus now, but he (Strassler) actually did Thucydides first. I guess he's got more out now too. |
