Exactly. That article points to 6 million "active" users. Best case scenario they have around six million users.

For several reasons, I myself have 6 Steam accounts. I currently have 77 Steam friends of which 59 have more than one account and 24 have more than 3 accounts.

As another example of overblown user figures, Facebook's 500 million is more like maybe 50 million genuine/unique accounts. Again, I have 9 Facebook accounts and 95% of my 2786 "friends" have over 5 accounts each. Why? For us, because of Mafia Wars*, which I left a few months ago, thank God. FYI and to my deep regret and shame, I have spent over 2K (USD) on that tripe. Never again. Lesson learned. I learn the hard way.



* I could write a whole blog on the benefits of having multiple Facebook accounts to take advantage of gifting and other internal workings for just about any Zynga game, but I'll spare you the headache. Suffice to say, having multiple accounts for most Zynga games, by the majority of users is a given. I'd stake my life on it.
