| Only technically you could break the encounter (like you did) and kill them all. I thought it was cool, I GUESS IT LET ME KNOW THAT THE LEGION IS BAD AND EVIL. I'm just irritated that I was led ALONG A FUCKING HIGHWAY to get to it. With stupid luck and a lot of reloads you could get to Navarro in Fallout 2. You could then bullshit your way into an Advanced Power Armor MkII with sufficient Speech and a lucky dice roll. Without cheating and noclip I don't see how I'm supposed to get to Vegas the easy way. This game may be a freeform roaming sandbox whatever the fuck but the storyline is rigged for you to take it the way they want you so transparently that I'm skipping through shit just to get it fucking over with. How convenient that I run into the robot at Novac. How did he know I was going to be there? How fortunate that all the guns I pick up get better and better the closer I follow the storyline's trail! Why does it seem like I'm bounding from town to town, soaking up all the "DO THIS" tasks I can before moving on? Could it be a cheap contrivance by faggot-in-chief and pretentious Goon shithead Josh Sawyer who hasn't had a good idea since he was sucking cock and fetching coffee for Chris Avellone at Black Isle? I much prefer kicking ass across the Wastes and coming back at level 15 clad in power armor that I need just to carry around my 15,000 caps before I even begin paying any notice to the fact there's a story in here.
I'm sure there's NMA fans just jacking off with glee about this but I have to say I preferred my first ten hours in Fallout 3 where I wandered into downtown D.C. and got lost in the Metro, stumbled onto the warzone of the Mall and found my way to the Washington Monument without anybody telling me to go anywhere. |
