The quality of the stories isn't the point. Of course all of it was crap, but the guys' writing was at least varied crap. Virtually without fail though chicks would write crap about breaking up, suicide, or self image issue like cutting, anorexia, and plastic surgery. Always.

Is the problem really the other students being mental, or....

Just kidding. When it came time for my turn to write something I just got it over with with some hackjob about a guy in a waiting room, that was really purgatory! They acted like they had never heard of that deeelicious twist before. My next story was some Catch 22 in a university setting thing that I wrote in 90 minutes on three hours of sleep and 3 beers at six in the morning. Brother fucker chick wanted me to submit it to the school literary magaine she worked for. They accepted it, and when I read it again later I spotted a ton of crap like constantly shifting verb tenses, 3 in one paragraph.

My favorite was still some 300 pound otaku Japophile girl who insisted on making everyone in her stories Japanese, giving them all Japanese names, and sprinkling kanji phrases around at random for absolutely no reason. Her story was about a guy with a camera who could see ghosts through it when he went to a haunted building then some ghost girl came out of a mirror and killed him. I asked her if she got the idea from "a videogame", and she defensively blurted out, "WHAT? No, I didn't get it from Fatal Frame! That game was completely different. You captured the ghosts in that game"


I still have a stack of them from the latest class I could type up if anyone felt like some fish in the barrel lampooning.
