Along with your Atari cartridge, I also sent you an Amiga 520 adapter. I mentioned it already, but the 520 is an adapter that plugs into the back of an Amiga 500 and provides color composite output. It's about the shape and size of an old C64 external modem, if that's any point of reference for you. Like I said, the Amiga 520 provides color COMPOSITE output -- not suitable any serious work with 80 column text, but passable for game playing.
That's extremely generous of you. I had avoided coming back into this subforum because I assumed it was filled to bursting with cockroaches. So there's lots of good news here.
I did get Marble Madness working in black and white. Let's bring it in and award JAZZIES and RAZZIES:
No, I'm just kidding, we won't do that, but I will say I was psyched that a 3.5" floppy disk worked like it did. I was psyched that the "mono out" port worked with a TV I had no other plans for. I am also psyched that the mouse you gave me worked without issue on the menu screen for MM.
I was under the impression that 2600 joysticks worked on the Amiga, but it seems to be a serial port there. Weird, and I need to read more.
I am going to see if I can find something called a "Workbench 1.3" or 1.2 disk. Apparently that's the key to getting some command-line programs in place that will let me take ADF files and make floppies with them. Thanks for your help, Flack. I wouldn't have been able to capture a little of my lost youth without your generosity.
