| it knew better than to just be a "horror" game, and actually put in decent gameplay as well as providing a horror ATMOSPHERE (all caps for the key word there) as opposed to retarded jump scares
maybe horror games just don't work on me since I was never scared by any of the resident evil games, but basically I just find horror elements to be either ineffectual attempts at showing off gore or distracting from the gameplay (fear being a prime example of "look at this goofy shit while you walk to the next action setpiece location" distractions). |
