key things in dead money's favor:
atmosphere is extremely strong
renewed aspects of survivalism, at a point in the game where you would otherwise no longer have to worry about such things like water or radiation (the game suggests you not attempt the dlc until after lvl 20), you are immediately limited to the holorifle and whatever food you can scrounge, so there is actual tension
big meaty interesting characters
big rewards for exploring the town, big risks for experimentation with many traps laid out
holorifle and cosmic knife are pretty good weapons, altho I was far beyond the point of needing them outside the dlc area
gold bricks, if you can carry one by the end, are worth about 10k caps each
the new crafting recipes you can only learn inside the town
new crafting recipes you learn just from purchasing dead money
new perks, higher level cap
it's fun to ragdoll the ghost people
frag mines (and the new trap, gas bombs) are more useful in town
back story on that dykie BOS cunt with the power fist cunt crasher, if you are into that sort of thing
easily accessible location that you can turn into your own personal safe house complete with crafting tables and storage space
the story contains some good twists and turns to always keep you interested
things not in dead money's favor:
there's a bug that sometimes causes your head to explode after you finish the dlc apparently :(
fucking holograms
fucking hologram emitters hidden in places no one would logically put any such thing, just so you can't shut them down fucking EVER
fucking poison clouds
fucking invincible radios that set off your battle royale exploding collar
fucking ending
fucking stealth not working
fucking companions dying kills you instantly
can't fucking return to the town, I left behind about a zillion fucking items
easily overburdened by metric fuckloads of shit you will want to keep but ultimately have to discard (I got out with about 90 pounds of food ingredients with the intention of cooking them into some food BFGs)
companions don't persist outside of the dlc content, so don't get too attached to them
