Q1: BOOOOORING! I like to work with people. Being holed up in an office doing research all day long sounds like a personal vision of Hell for me.
Q2: Yes. I would have prepped for law school in a different way, I would have taken some different classes, and I definitely would have taken a different career path straight out of law school, but a law degree is a flexible degree and I'm changing to a job I'm already enjoying a great deal more in volunteer form. Once I start doing it as a business, my law degree hanging on the wall will give me greater authority with clients than, say, accreditation for therapy or community service, and will justify me charging lawyer-level hourly fees.
New Guy's Q: They didn't give the "Look to your left, look to your right, only one of you three will graduate" speech at my law school, but the first semester gives you 17 credits of coursework while the second semester gives you 12. |
