I have bought, played, and beat this game and yeah, it's a bit of a dissapointing experience. The elemental control is much more limited than expected. Some examples,

Pretty much anytime you drop dirt in/near an ocean to try to say, prevent flooding, it just flows away into nowhere.

You don't ever get full control of everything until the final sandbox level.

Your powers are limited to controlling certain villages/totems, if a village is destroyed you lose this power. This is extremely drustrating on later levels where the game is essentially designed to kill you no matter what. Like getting the Evaporate power to keep your villages from flooding only to have the level suddenly fill with Lava.

Even the sandbox level where you can do everything has this tedeousness.

I may have missed it but I could not find a way to rotate the camera, which was irritating as hell.

Dropping diet to make hills is really impercise and often a traveling villager will get stuck on some tiny pit you can't manage to quickly fill and meanwhile he is about to be burried under a lava river.
