that's where we diverge, I guess by up with pod people 10/30/2011, 5:09pm PDT you see "dated," I see "reinterpreted." just as fashion consumes and iterates itself (70s inflected this, conquistador-armour-suggesting-that), tron 2 was "what if you reopened the tron bottle after thirty years?" as a stylistic thought experiment. I doubt I'll buy it, but I had several eye/eargasm combo moments and I must credit them for that.
