Should you always buy RAM that is exactly alike? I mean, I know you SHOULD, but how important is it?

I'm not a big hardware person, but I think the real issue is bus speed. As long as the bus is above the minimum for that ram and is not above the maximum, what happens is the bus waits on the slowest memory, so I think what happens is, if you mix ram that is different types, your maximum performance is the slowest memory you have and the bus waits on it. Unlike in the real world where, if you aren't there, the bus goes on without you!

You'll need to set it to 1.6 and hope the lower voltage set doesn't fry by Entropy Stew 11/18/2011, 7:56am PST NEW

I know setting to 1.6V is technically the correct thing to do. I'd just throw in by Eurotrash 11/20/2011, 8:50am PST NEW
