I once had to explain this to my mother, that if you're using peroxide to clean wounds, you *do not* dip the bottle onto the item you're going to use to wipe the wound, do so, then repeat. Instead, you pour the bottle's contents onto the cotton ball or rag, you apply that to the area, and possibly then, if necessary, pour some peroxide onto the item without allowing the bottle or contents still in the bottle to touch the surface.
I had to explain to her if you do a "dip" style, what happens is, you let the material into the bottle, and basically, you contaminate the peroxide by allowing the bacteria, dirt or other contaminants to flow into the bottle.
My mother wasn't stupid, but I am surprised she didn't realize this. |
