a Game of navigating and killing MOBs by Roop 01/09/2012, 8:30pm PST
It's all really gorgeous wrapping paper. But really I'm playing a game of flat planes of MOBs. I must navigate the plane, and kill the MOBs. It gets old. Level after level, in WoW here, whereever, I encounter "planes of MOBs." Groups of 3-5 fuckers, they stand around, do not much else but wait to be killled. How do they eat? How do they survive? They do not. They exist to stand around and be killed. Repeat.

Is it too much to ask that animals act like fucking animals!?

Anyway, I did see an area I liked tonight. Same plane, same groups of mobs in 4 and 5s, But these crazy cats that just ran around amongst the mobs. It gave an illusion of something going on, for the briefest of moments.

If I were to design a MMOG, every single one of these damn MOBs has to be doing something, have a fucking task, like eat or sleep or hunt WHATEVER don't just stand there--waiting for me. These fuckers standing around, really, in 2011? No 2012, whatever it is. Cutting-edge story, but will somebody make the "mobiles" mobile already?

But I liked that, seeing these crazy cat MOBs running around caring little for the lesser MOBs whose paths they cut across. Saw one area in the whole game so far that made me think it might be real. Kinda.

Anywayz back to the planes of MOBs in all-new different shapes, same-old fucking configuration, all for killin.'

Not that that can't be entertaining. But not enough entertaining! You hear me? Not enough!

Great story too.
