I'm not sure if Fabio got WW1 and WW2 mixed up or is channeling that fag who wrote that sobby Colonization review but, as human history is just one long string of atrocities what can we even commemorate or celebrate? Visiting Gettysburg is suddenly atrocity tourism, visiting the Pyramids is enjoying the fruit of slavery, I guess watching Pirates of the Caribbean is a celebration of brutality and disease? It's not as if he's going to tour Belsen here or something, I mean shit.

I was reading about this after you posted, and there are some complaints that re-enacting whitewashes (har) the the thing since you'll never see black folks pretending to be slave camp labor for the Confederates, or in some cases for the Union too. I always regarded these guys as Creative Anachronism-types not worth bothering with.

I visited the location of the Twin Towers when I was in NY in 2004, after I had visited the intact Towers in 2000. Not on Sept 11th though. Still, I am a crazy lunatic. I guess it's superfluous to say I visited Revolutionary War sites in and around Philly on July 4th some years back. The prosecution doesn't need that to add to its slam-dunk case.
