The solution is to always keep it in offline mode in case you ever lose internet. Unless you need it for multiplayer, content download, friend, matchmaking, most of the stuff that makes Steam Steam.
Steam can be pretty stupid sometimes.
(to Mischief Maker: it helps if you think of Steam as a discount rental service where you can get games for a quarter of the price only a couple months after release, rather than buying permanent copies for retail price. By the time Steam could ever conceivably go out of business, those games will be as trivial to download as 80s titles from abandonware sites). |
