Thoughts:
1. I wouldn't say the game has a bad story, but it has bad pacing, with a hasty explaining at the end and a sudden shift in the POV from being told by your major officers in your base to suddenly one of your soldiers in the field. If you haven't developed an attachment to whomever you choose for the POV to shift to, or worse, you picked someone you didn't really give a fuck about, it's kind of jarring. Having a lot of tech upgrades locked behind story advancement sucked as well. I was almost done with the game by the time I started using psi powers.

2. Rocket Launchers and Interceptors need a mid-level tech tree upgrade. It was absurd to be using a rocket launcher in the last parts of the game, but the unlockable plasma launcher is so ridiculously far up the tech tree that you're already in Titan armor by the time you get it. Still, makes short work of Sectopods and Cyberdiscs.

3. The Fusion Cannon interceptor weapon is worthless. To get it, you have to down a battleship. To down a battleship, you probably need AT LEAST a Firestorm equipped with a plasma cannon to avoid getting mauled. And this is to shoot down the biggest enemy UFO in the game. After that, why would you need anything else?

4. Please give me some sort of way to melt down unwanted weapon fragments/ufo computers/whatelse into alloys. It's such a major supply chokepoint in the game, you can seriously be sitting around with nothing to do for a month in game-time while you wait for a UFO to wander by so you can pick up some Elerium and Alloys.

5. Too RNG-dependent. You can have a country on full panic withdraw at the next council report. Reload save. It may or may not withdraw again when you hit the same point.

Still worth buying at release. 9/10
