Some preinterview, Jake Soloman all paranoid, it comes through. He knows it was a mistake, him finally backing down about the random maps. Fuck that! He WAS right, giving up on that probably ruined the whole damn thing. If they hadn't used Unreal, things might have been different. Not that it was a bad game... so much sweat, so many dreams.
Screw that! I'm waiting for the tools to put this game in the hands of the fans, honestly. Maybe the Unreal engine wasn't such a bad choice, if I get 10 million fan-made maps? Give us the tools, bitches.
Yeah, all this shit would be one thing if it were any other franchise. X-COM is unique in that nobody wants anyone's stupid opinion on what should be introduced in the remake. XCOM is a fine game (but I am saddened to hear replayability isn't there) but I want to be able to bring 12 dudes to a fight already. I want them to be able to have a shitload of equipment already. And I am two hours in. If they allow it to be modded, that might be all that needs to be done.
I am gonna pre-order Xenonauts. Not because I dislike XCOM, it's fine. But Xenonauts is now the closest thing to a possible X-COM remake. Also, you get to play the alpha.
