This is another thing I can't stand about this place. You all post links, and then act OUTRAGED, but nobody outside your little personal ball of outrage has ANY FUCKING IDEA what point you're trying to make.


It was a revelation to read that after 100+ years of filmmaking, it was Fight Club – not the abolition of the Hays Code, not Italian Neorealism, not Breathless, not Bonnie and Clyde, not Sam Fuller or Budd Boetticher or Anthony Mann or John Ford or HITCHCOCK, OR THE NUTTY PROFESSOR FOR THAT MATTER – that ushered in the era of the morally ambiguous ending.

TV Tropes is dominated by people who confuse consumption with perspective, as in you can weigh your expertise by stacking all the comics you own on the bathroom scale.
