Charlie Fuqua, a Republican candidate for the Arkansas state House of Representatives, was defeated by incumbent state Rep. James McLean (D), 72 percent to 28 percent.
Fuqua, a former state legislator, made headlines when it surfaced that in his 2012 book, God's Law, he endorsed letting parents seek the death penalty for rebellious children.
Fuqua, who grounded the book in the Bible, wrote that the system would allow parents to ask state government for permission to kill the children. He wrote that while it was unlikely that many parents would ask state government for permission to kill their children, he said it would quell child rebellion in the state. Fuqua also wrote that he supported deporting all Muslims.
On his campaign blog, Fuqua has described Muslims and liberals as the "anti-Christ" and said they were plotting a "bloody rebellion."
This man got 28% of the vote! |
